Women's Volleyball Centre

The women’s national training centre is based in Richmond, BC.

The purpose of Women’s Training Centre at the Richmond Oval is to enhance the long-term objective of identifying, selecting and developing a group of athletes with ability or potential for qualifying for the 2024 Olympics as well as performing well in the 2021-2024 quadrennial.

The NextGen program and National Excellec focuses preparing athletes for international level of training and eventually competition.

In addition to guidance from coaching staff, led by the Senior Team Head Coach, athletes receive services from the Canadian Sport Institute - Pacific which is located inside the Richmond Oval only a few feet away from the high performance training gym.  Athletes also have access to sports medicine at LifeMark also located within the national team training centre in Richmond.

In addition to volleyball sessions, conditioning and weight training, the athletes will be encouraged to participate in local community initiatives.  These events include reading to elementary schools, running clinics for local volleyball clubs, helping out with local fundraisers, and more. 

Senior team athletes are playing professionally in international leagues will join the training group in May for team tryouts before the summer of national team competitions.
