ABOUT THE WORLD LEAGUE

The FIVB Volleyball World League is synonymous with fantastic matches and top-class sport and entertainment. In its inaugural year in 1990, the World League featured eight teams, 10 in 1991, 12 from 1992-2000 and 2004-05, 16 from 2001-2003 and 2006-2012, then 18 in the 2013 edition, 28 in 2014 and 32 in 2015 for the first time.

Each country is split across 8 pools (A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H) who play double home and away matches - two matches each weekend for intercontinental round (two matches per day over three days for pools F, G and H).

Pools A and B will hold a Final round featuring the two top teams of those pools, the hosts and the winner from the Final Four from pools C, D, E.

Pools F, G, H will hold a Final Four where the host country and the winners of the three pools will participate
