2014 MTS Super-Spike: Entertainment lineup and registration information announced
Winnipeg – MTS Super-Spike presented by Bud Light, is thrilled to announce that acclaimed Canadian rockers The Arkells, and 2014 Juno Breakthrough Group of the Year winner July Talk, will be headlining this year’s event.
MTS Super-Spike, which takes place July 18th & 19th at Maple Grove Rugby Park, combines Western Canada’s largest outdoor/beach volleyball tournament with a weekend long concert series set in a festival atmosphere.
The event has raised over $700,000 to date in support of the Winnipeg-based National Women’s Volleyball Team.
Formed in Hamilton, Ontario, the Arkells have become one of Canada’s most acclaimed alternative rock outfits. Joining the Arkells is signature sounding 2014 Juno Breakthrough Group of the Year July Talk whose song ‘Guns and Ammunition’ caught fire on the Canadian Rock Charts this past year.
Teams interested in registering for this year’s event can do so by visiting www.superspike.ca. Early bird registration is only $45 per person through to June 1st. All Super-Spike tournament participants receive free access for the concert series and on-site festivities.
Early bird weekend passes for non-tournament participants will be on-sale this Friday April 25th at 10am, and can be purchased for only $25 through www.superspike.ca . After June 1st they will go up to regular price of $35.
Last year alone over 7000 people visited Super-Spike where a record setting 432 teams took part. This year plans are to reach a new record mark of 500 registered teams, and over $175,000 raised in support of the National Women’s Volleyball Team.
