The FIVB World Cup occurs every 4 years, in the year that precedes the Summer Olympics. It is a round-robin format, which showcases both the top 12 men’s and women’s national teams in the world.  Japan always hosts this event, along with their partner Fuji TV that produces amazing television ratings.  This tournament means a lot to the national teams who compete in it, as the top 3 finishers earn berths into the Olympic Games.
