Volleyball Canada Announces World League Broadcast Schedule

APRIL 15, 2014 :  Volleyball Canada announced today that Sportsnet will broadcast all home and away 2014 FIVB World League Games.

The excitement and action of World League is set to get more intense this year as the 25th edition of the FIVB World League sees the competition increase from 18 to 28 teams split into seven pools of four teams each.  In 2013, Team Canada won its pool, advancing to the playoffs and winning an exciting battle against the top-ranked Russian team, ultimately finishing fifth overall. The team’s performance resulted in a seven-place gain for Canada in the World Rankings – from 18th to 11th.

“Volleyball Canada is once again pleased to be partnered with Sportsnet to offer volleyball fans in Canada the opportunity to follow the men’s team throughout its World League campaign,” said John Blacher, Volleyball Canada Director of International Events.  “We hope to provide some exciting matches again this year.”

Canada is the top-ranked team in Pool C – facing Belgium (37), Australia (14) and Finland (30).   The schedule for the FIVB Volleyball World League 2014 matches played in Canada is as follows:
