NORCECA U21 beach volleyball selected

 TORONTO (February 11, 2013) - Grant O’Gorman of Toronto and Aaron Nusbaum of Aurora as well as Sophie Bukovec and Ali Wooley, both of Toronto earned Canada’s spots for next month’s NORCECA (North and Central America and Caribbean)  U21 beach volleyball championships at trials on Monday.

O’Gorman, a national team member, and Nusbaum defeated Greg Simone of London and Gabriel Burlacu of Windsor in the men’s final 21-12, 21-17.

In the bronze medal match, Blake Scheerhoorn of Belleville and Lucas Coleman of Brooklin beat Jake MacNeil of Georgetown and Andrew Richards of London 21-14, 20-22, 15-9.

In the women’s final, Bukovec, also a national team member, and Wooley defeated Tiadora Miric of Thornhill and Alexandra Poletto of Toronto 21-14, 21-15.

In the bronze match, Tamara Vujadinovic and Emily Kawaguchi, both of Toronto beat Gabriela Maciagowski  of Etobicoke and Aleks Arsovic of Burlington 21-16, 21-17.

The exact date and location for the NORCECA Championships are still to be announced.
