Masters Category Age Change for the 2012 Canadian Open
February 27th, 2012
Due to precious feedback from members in the past weeks, the 2012 Canadian Open Competitions Committee reviewed the age restriction for the Masters category. After review, it was decided that it was in the best interest of our adult membership to change the age from 35+ to 45+ for the Masters category at National Championships for 2012. Further discussions will take place after the 2012 Canadian Open regarding further splitting the adult age groups. The Senior category remains open with no age restrictions.
This change comes into effect immediately. In order to give interested teams time to register in both the Senior and Masters 45+ category, the registration deadline has been pushed to March 30th, 2012.
We would like to take this opportunity to also confirm that with the current number of teams registered in both the men’s and women’s senior categories, the 2012 Senior Canadian Open will take place. However, a minimum of 4 teams will be needed to run the Masters’ 45+ category in each gender.
We hope to see more teams register in these categories, therefore please help us spread the word!
