Jennifer Cross reaches NCAA Final Four

 WINNIPEG – Jennifer Cross of Scarborough, Ont., saw a very successful season come to a close on Thursday night as the University of Michigan Wolverines lost its Final Four match to the University of Texas 25-11, 21-25, 23-25, 25-12, 15-11.

It was the first time Michigan advanced to the Final Four of the NCAA women’s volleyball tournament.  The Wolverines were unseeded entering the championship tournament.

Cross, a third-year kinesiology student at Michigan, set a single-season school record for blocks with 181 and shared a single season matches played record for Michigan with two other teammates at 39.

In addition, the 20-year-old middle-blocker, was named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) 2012 All-America third team and to the All-Big Ten and All-Berkeley Regional teams.

Prior to joining Michigan, the 6’4” Cross led the Durham Attack to three provincial club titles and Birchmount Park High School to four Toronto city high school championships.  She is also an accomplished beach volleyball player representing Canada at the U19 and U21 world championships.
