Identification and selection camp being held in Vancouver

VANCOUVER – Some of Canada’s top beach volleyball players are currently at an identification and selection camp hosted by Volleyball Canada and Volleyball BC at Spanish Beach East.

“The objective of the camp is to identify and select athletes who will have an immediate and long term impact on the beach national team and also be selected for the U19-U21 world championships,” said Lennard Krapp, the head coach of Canada’s beach volleyball team.

Krapp and national team assistant Angie Shen are being helped at the camp by Mischa Harris and Kyra Iannone, two internationally experienced coaches, and Dolphin Casper, a former provincial coach.  The camp started on Tuesday and ends following a weekend tournament on Sunday.

Another ID & Selection camp will take place in Toronto for all athletes from the Eastern provinces.  The camp is scheduled for June 1-6  and will identify and evaluate other athletes in those categories.
