Glenn Hoag, coach of the month for June
MONTREAL –Glenn Hoag of Gatineau was named coach of the month for June by the National Coaching Institute today. Last month, Hoag led Canada’s national men’s volleyball team to the bronze medal at the Pan Am Cup.
After coaching at the Universite de Sherbrooke in the 1990’s, Hoag headed to Europe where he had success particularly with Paris Volley which he led to the Champions League, Coupe France and French championship titles.
The 1984 Olympic team member, rejoined Sherbrooke in 2003 before being hired as Canada’s head coach in 2007
Over the past few months, the level 4 NCCP coach divides his time between his duties as national coach and coaching professionally in Europe. He is also keeping an eye on his son Nicholas, a member of Canada’s national junior team.
Next on Hoag’s plate is helping Canada gain a berth for the 2012 World League season.
