Former Volleyball Canada executive director Sylvie Bigras on most influential women in sport’s list
OTTAWA – Sylvie Bigras, the former executive director of Volleyball Canada, was on the list of the most influential women in sport’s list released by the Canadian Association for the Advancement of Women in Sport (CAAWS)
Bigras, a member of the University of Ottawa varsity team, headed Volleyball Canada for most of the 1990’s. Since then she has become a powerful force in sports communications in Canada serving as the Canadian Olympic Committee’s press chief at numerous Olympic and Pan Am Games including the 2010 Vancouver-Whistler Olympics.
Bigras was featured in the newspapers La presse (http://www.cyberpresse.ca/le-droit/personnalite/201101/23/01-4362952-lamour-du-sport-mene-a-tout.php on Sunday and will also be profiled tonight on the Ottawa-Gatineau newscast on Radio-Canada television at 6 p.m.
