Frequently Asked Questions

 

1) Where is the auction held?

The Fundraising Auction is physically held at the Shops of Winnipeg Square, 360 Main Street (Winnipeg, Canada), and also online where items can be viewed and bids can be placed.  Click here to access the Auction website.


2) How long is the auction?

The Auction will begin on Friday, March 8th 2013and will end on Friday, March 15th, 2013. Please follow your item on the auction website for the exact closing time.


3) What type of auction is it?

The Auction is ran in “Silent Auction” format where viewable bids are placed on items throughout the week and the highest bid at the close of the auction wins the item for that specific bid price.

4) How do you register and bid?

Interested bidders must sign up for an account at no charge (click here to register now).  Bidders must then access the online auction website and select the item they wish to bid on.  Unlike in previous years, bidders will not be able to bid by phone or simply in person, however computer terminals will be set up in the Shops of Winnipeg Square for your convenience. 
 

5) How will you be notified if you win?

If you are the winner of an auction item or package, an email will notify you that you are the winner of the item.

6) When will you be notified if you win?

If you are the winner of an item, you will be contacted immediately following the auction on Friday, March 15th. The payment will be processedfrom the credit card you provided when you registered.


7) How will auction items be shipped to the winners?

Successful bidders can choose to have the item shipped to them once the credit card has been processed.  Bidders who have items sent to them via Canada Post will have the shipping price charged to their credit card.  

A number of items are not available for shipping and are for “pick-up only”.  You will be required to coordinate the pick-up/delivery of these items with Volleyball Canada after the completion of the auction.  In addition, if you wish to pick up your item, arrangements can be made.

If possible, winners can pick up their items in Ottawa/Gatineau or Winnipeg the week following the auction, depending on the origin of the item.  Please make sure you call before dropping by.

Winners from the Winnipeg area are encouraged to pick up their packages at:

9) Privacy Concerns?

10) Who will benefit from the funds raised at the auction?

100% of the funds raised from the auction will go to theNational Volleyball Teams through Volleyball Canada. These funds will help assist with the 2013 season including: training costs, equipment, travel and competition costs for all of our National Teams and their various international tournaments.  
Volleyball Canada is a registered charitable organization.
