Celebrating our Olympic Heroes!

This past Friday, an unforgettable week and year for our beach volleyball Olympians reached its climax with a parade through downtown Toronto.  Marie-Andree Lessard, Annie Martin, Josh Binstock and Martin Reader proudly represented Canada in London at the Olympic Games and many Canadians capitalized on their opportunity to show their appreciation for their efforts.

Last week, the Canadian beach volleyball foursome and other Olympians also visited the House of Commons in Ottawa and met Prime Minister Stephen Harper,  enjoyed an  Olympic breakfast with KidSport and the Boys&Girls Club, visited elementary schools and the Sick Kids Hospital and were  honored at a luncheon with the Governor General and much more.

In the photo at the top, Reader and Lessard parade on a float through downtown Toronto with Team Leader and national beach volleyball team coach Lennard Krapp.  Later Reader and Binstock met Ontario Premier Dalton McGuinty at Queens Park.
