Canadians Simac and Lewis lead Bled into round of 12

OTTAWA  - Adam Simac of Ottawa and Dan Lewis of Oakville, Ont., (in photo) two members of Canada’s men’s national volleyball team, enter round of 12 action on Wednesday with their European pro club ACH Bled in League of Champions play.

The League of Champions is a winter-long tournament that determines the top volleyball professional squad in Europe.

Bled, which won its sixth Slovenian Cup in December, completed League of Champions round robin play with four wins and two losses for second place in its pool. On Thursday they face, Russian powerhouse Zenit Kazan which also posted a 4-2 mark for first spot in its pool, in the first of a home and home series in Bled.

Wednesday’s match is set to start at 2:15 p.m. (EST) and will be carried live on-line at . Game two is next week in Russia.
