Canadian Sarah Pavan’s spiking skills lead pro club to Champions League quarterfinals
MOSCOW – Canadian national team player Sarah Pavan of Kitchener, Ont., delivered another sparkling performance on Thursday as she produced 14 points to help Villa Cortese (Italy) to a straight sets win over Moscow Dinamo in the round of 16 in women’s Champions League volleyball.
The Milan-based squad took the match 25-15, 25-22, 25-23 to advance advance to the quarterfinals. The Champions League is a three month tournament that determines the top pro club in Europe.
Pavan was the top spiker in the match earning all her points on kills. She is fifth in tournament scoring and fourth in spiking.
