Canada vs Puerto Rico World League qualifier: pre-series comments

KINGSTON, Ontario- Head coaches Glenn Hoag of Team Canada and Carlos Cardona of Puerto Rico are ready for a tough final round of the World League Qualification Series.

Both matches start at 7 PM at the K-Rock Centre.

“These two matches are very important matches for us,” says Hoag “both because they help us prepare for the NORCECA Championships which start August 27th, and because it qualifies us for the World League, something we have been striving for and is great for our program. We just came back from a successful tour in Europe, where we played 10 matches in 14 days.”

Canada is ranked 22nd in the world while Puerto Rico is ranked 15th.

“My expectations are for the Puerto Rico team to stay in the World League for next year.” states Cardona, “We need to start playing at the very first point because that could be the difference at the end of the match.”

Tickets can be purchased at or at the K-Rock Centre box office.
