Canada falls to Montpellier in exhibition matchMONTPELLIER, France (March 28, 2013)– Canada’s Fulltime Centre (FTC) team lost all four sets to Montpellier in an exhibition match against the Pro A French league team. The scores were 25-21, 25-19, 25-23, 26-24.
Nicholas Hoag of Sherbrooke, Que., and Allan Meek of Sherwood Park, Alta., led Canada with 13 points while Marc Howatson of Victoria added 12.
“This is the kind of challenge we came here for,” said Canada’s FTC head coach Vincent Pichette. “We will continue to make the necessary adjustments for our next two matches.”
Montpellier finished ninth in the French Pro A League standings this season missing the playoffs by one spot. Canada plays number-two Sete on Friday.
Team Canada arrived here March 17 for a two-week mix of training and matches. They return to their home base in Gatineau on March 31.
