2013 Volleyball Canada U19 Selection Tournament
Objective:
Identify and select athletes who will have an immediate as well as long-term impact on the Beach National Team.

Registration:
Athletes registering for the Volleyball Canada’s U19 Selection Tournament MUST indicate their partner. Each team member must register separately

Registration Deadline:
Wednesday February 13th, Midnight EST
Please note: the first 12 teams per gender to register will be accepted into the tournament.
Under 19 vs. 19 and Under
The U19 abbreviation means that the athlete must be under the age of 19 years old within that competition year. (E.g. 18 years and younger)
This is different than the abbreviation 19U, which implies that an athlete is 19 years old or younger during that competition year
Eligibility for the Selection Tournament
U19 – Date of Birth, January 1st 1995 or later
Maximum of 12 teams per gender
Please note: the first 12 teams per gender to register will be accepted into the tournament.
Team Nomination
The winning team of each gender of Volleyball Canada’s U19 Selection Tournament will be nominated for the NORCECA U19 World Championships Qualification event held in Costa Rica April 2 to 8, 2013
Please note: The 2nd place team in each gender of Volleyball Canada’s U19 Selection Tournament will be nominated as the alternate team.

Registration Fee
Early registration fee: $80 plus tax per athlete (On or before February 6th)
Registration fee: $100 plus tax per athlete (February 7th to February 13th)
Please note that each athlete will be responsible for his/her own accommodation, meals and transportation while in Toronto as well as transportation costs to and from Toronto
*Refunds: No refunds will be given after the start of the preliminary inquiry
*Cancellations: Cancellations prior to the preliminary inquiry will incur $25 administration fee
Requirements
Present Canadian passport at the tournament
NORCECA Health Certificate (BV-04) form
Personal Coaches
Provincial Team Coaches and Personal Coaches are welcome to attend and support the teams.
Practice Schedule
Teams can sign up for practice sessions on February 14th and February 15th, by sending an e-mail request to the Beach National Team Coordinator, Marc Strommemstromme@volleyball.ca
Injuries
Should an injury prevent you from attending or adversely affect you at the tournament, please notify us of your status immediately. Athletes attending the tournament are expected to be physically and mentally prepared to compete.

Participation within Volleyball Canada’s U19 Selection Tournament may qualify you for additional Fulltime Training Centre opportunities.
