2013 Volleyball Canada FISU Selection Tournament
Objective:
Identify and select athletes who will have an immediate as well as long-term impact on the Beach National Team.
Nominate teams for the FISU 2013 Summer Universiade Games held in
Kazan, Russia, July 6- 17, 2013
Registration:
Athletes registering for the Volleyball Canada’s FISU Selection Tournament MUST indicate their partner. Each team member must register separately.

Registration Deadline:
Wednesday March 20th, Midnight EST
Please note: the first 12 teams per gender to register will be accepted into the tournament.
Eligibility for the Selection Tournament
Only the following may participate as a competitor in the FISU 2013 Summer Universiade Games Selection Tournament:
a) Students who are currently officially registered as proceeding towards a degree or diploma at the university or similar institute whose status is recognized by the appropriate national academic authority of their country;
b) Former student of the institutions mentioned in a) who have obtained their academic degree or diploma in the year preceding the event.
All competitors must satisfy the following conditions:
a) Be a national of the country they represent
b) Be at least 17 and less than 28 years of age on January 1st in the year of the event.
Team Nomination – Canada 1
The winning team of each gender of Volleyball Canada’s FISU Selection Tournament will be nominated as Canada 1 for the FISU 2013 Summer Universiade Games held in Kazan, Russia, July 6- 17, 2013.
Please note: The 2nd place team in each gender of Volleyball Canada’s FISU Selection Tournament will be nominated as the alternate team for Canada 1.
Team Nomination – Canada 2
The 2nd place team of each gender of Volleyball Canada’s FISU Selection Tournament will be nominated as Canada 2 for the FISU 2013 Summer Universiade Games held in Kazan, Russia, June 6- 17, 2013
Please note: that Canada is only granted one entry per gender (Canada 1) into the FISU 2013 Summer Universiade Games however could be granted a 2nd enter per gender (Canada 2) at a later date.
Please note: The 3rd place team in each gender of Volleyball Canada’s FISU Selection Tournament will be nominated as the alternate team for Canada 2.

Registration Fee
Early registration fee: $80 plus tax per athlete (On or before March 13th)
Registration fee: $100 plus tax per athlete (March 14th to 20th)
Please note that each athlete will be responsible for his/her own accommodation, meals and transportation while in Toronto as well as transportation costs to and from Toronto
*Refunds: No refunds will be given after the start of the preliminary inquiry
*Cancellations: Cancellations prior to the preliminary inquiry will incur $25 administration fee
Requirements
Present Canadian passport at the tournament
Completed Academic of Eligibility form
Personal Coaches
Provincial Team Coaches and Personal Coaches are welcome to attend and support the teams.
Practice Schedule
Teams can sign up for practice sessions on March 21s and March 22nd, by sending an e-mail request to the Beach National Team Coordinator, Marc Strommemstromme@volleyball.ca
Injuries
Should an injury prevent you from attending or adversely affect you at the tournament, please notify us of your status immediately. Athletes attending the tournament are expected to be physically and mentally prepared to compete.

Participation within Volleyball Canada’s FISU Tournament may qualify you for additional Fulltime Training Centre opportunities.
