16U FTC Beach Group
Summer Program 2011

The FTC will be providing 16U athletes who want to take their development under the supervision of the National Program, the opportunity to train full time as a dedicated beach athlete. This program is geared towards athletes that are interested in exploring the benefits of training as a full time dedicated beach athlete, and may have aspirations for future opportunities to represent Canada at U19 World Championships.

Training Program:
  • June 8 - August 28, 2011
  • Regular weekly training with the FTC at Ashbridges Bay
    • 16U Athletes will train 3 days a week
    • June sessions will be in the evening
    • July & August sessions may move earlier into the day
  • Athletes who choose this option are expected to commit to all regular training sessions and compete in Provincial Championships (July 30-31 and Aug 6-7), Nationals, the NTCC Test Event, as well as 6 additional single day OVA tournaments.
Includes:
  • Training provided by Full Timce Centre coaches, and National Team coaches
  • Practices along side Beach National Team at Ashbridges Bay
  • Coaching support during OVA competitions & Beach Nationals
    (National Team competition routines & scouting)
  • Athletes are guided by coaches in preparation of their training and competition plans
  • Weekly Yoga
  • Strength and Conditioning Program (TBC)
  • On site athletic therapy
  • Ontario provincially identified athletes are also eligible for sports medicine coverage off site (select clinics)
Cost: $600**

Identification:

Athletes are identified for these groups on an on going basis. Interested athletes can contact Beach Development Coach at Angie Shen.

If still applicable, Ontario athletes can also attend the 18U Ontario Provincial Team selection camp from May 27-29, 2011 at Ashbridges Bay. At this camp, the NBVPC will give top athletes the opportunity to participate in the NBVPC program. Information about the Ontario Provincial Team program and selection camp can be found here.

Being a member of the Ontario Provincial Team does not secure a spot in the 16U NBVPC group.
